US Civilflag Newsletter: Ron Paul's Supporters Outsmart RNC and the Turning of the Tide towards Freedom

I am an energy guy, I sense movements of energy before they manifest on the physical plane. You could say it is a form of prophecy; I just see it as sensitivity. While the outer form appears to be getting worse, like the passage of NDDA and the appearance of the failure of the Ron Paul movement to gain traction with the populace. The actual truth underneath is quite surprising, like in Vegas two weeks ago watching the Super Bowl; I felt the shift towards the Giants before the miraculous throw by Manning and catch by Manningham, even before the dropped pass by Wes Welker.
Miracles are created by massive movements of energy that take time to be made manifest. Reading the post game recaps of the Super Bowl, it was remarkable to see that when the Giants got the ball back on the last drive that the whole team knew that they were now going to win; in fact that belief carried them through the whole week and they had to bite their tongue not to appear arrogant. Flying back from Vegas, I saw that Ron Paul had finished second in Maine on CNN. The truth again was far different; Ron Paul had in fact won Maine and by a substantial margin except for the shenanigans of the RNC in Maine. Maine is now being run over by a swarm of idealistic 20 year olds that are in the midst of hijacking the Republican party there.
On the same flight back from Vegas, it was a long flight, to my surprise I watched a segment on the Rachel Maddow show about the quiet amassing of delegates by Ron Paul in the caucus states that rivals the Mitt and the Rick. How can that be? Apparently Ron Paul supporters do not have the attention span of guppies like most followers of CNN, they have read the rules and play the game and end up as the delegate. All lawful and legal in a pharisee sort of way; it is the panzer division of wicked smart kids that are ruling the day as the stupid sound bite TV watchers that barely have enough ram to retain a phone number are being crushed under a designer boot. Where is all this leading too? Maybe a brokered convention where the Mitt, the Rick and the Newt supporters will sell themselves out for a box of chocolates followers the lead of their yellow-bellied leaders.
What is most true in America today is that cowardice is a badge of honor and that character remains the domain of a select few earned not handed out like a box of chocolates or a government check for signing a form and emitting CO2. There are many other signs that the wicked smart are breaking through the illusion of the magic of the media and the witchcraft of the banks and the courts. David Clarence who is somewhere buried on my email list has perfected the ultimate shield and weapon against the de-facto agents of the Corporation posing as our government. It is known as the executor process, it can bring you back from the dead into the land of the living and make your accusers liable for your welfare. How bout them apples? I have seen it work firsthand with a vicious federal case who wrongly accused a friend of mine of nothing. In the ensuing two and a half years of nothing. His wife left him, he sent all his savings, lost his house and moved into trailer. A verifiable story of Job where the good man is attacked by the devil to see if he can be broken. The case was set to go to trial and the prosecutor was seeking 7 years for nothing, he lined up witnesses that were paid to lots of money to lie. The irony here is that the accused was paid the fair market rate for his services of $700 to do what he gets paid to do; while the Fed's witness was paid get this over $100,000 to do what the accused was paid $700. The Fed conviction rate is 97.5% or something to that effect. This can only happened in the land of monopoly money. A week after submission of the executor papers, the case was dismissed for a song and a dance. Two and a half years and over a million dollars down the drain, but the good news is that everyone is paid. That is the point of the Defacto, to collect money and keep the train going. It has nothing to do with Truth, Justice and the American way; that is why this lie is about to end. I have other secrets that I can't reveal, but trust in this, the tide has turned in the affairs of men.
Here is the pitch to make some coin, I have some Ron Paul patches, books and hats (Ron Paul Hat not shown on link specify in paypal notation box when ordering) still left with the Sons of liberty logo with the original vertical striped flag that lays in the backroom at the Massachusetts Historical Society. The Return of the Republic is a movement of energy that extends way beyond Ron Paul back to the Dejure government of our Founding Fathers; that is about to return in a big way as this Tsunami of energy is about to hit the American shores.

UsCivilflags Newsletter: Ron Paul the Exoteric Head of the Republic

Here is what I believe. I believe in the power of momentum to change the world. Ron Paul is a good sincere man, that has built of wave of energy that may actually change America. I am not talking about the political process either, I am talking a change in consciousness, because Ron Paul is a rarity in the world of politics or life; he is what he appears to be. There is no hidden agenda here at work, he honestly wants to re-install a functional Republic and if given the chance one that would go back to the pre-1862 government that the Dejure Republic of Tim Turner or other common law oriented groups.
Ron Paul has one of the most difficult jobs in the movement back to a Constitutional Republic, he needs to sell the idea to people that are addicted to the welfare/warfare state which is the majority of America. 10 years ago there was no discussion of sound money or a return to a gold/silver standard. It was pure crackpot ism in the eyes of most U.S. citizens. Today not only is there not just a real debate about a return to sound money there is actually an over whelming movement back to the actual use of gold and silver as money which is the main weapon to unhinge the power base of the Federal Reserve money printing ponzi scheme. We pay taxes because we use private money (Fed Notes) as opposed to public money (U.S. Notes). We follow the corporate rules under the defacto U.S. government, not the dejure Republic. To return to legitimate peaceful government, we need to remove the Federal Reserve and repudiate all debts which are based on fraud anyway. They are not our debts they are the debts of the De-facto corporate government.
Ron Paul has done more to expose the Federal Reserve than any man alive; Eustace Mullins died this year he was the original source of the information on the Fed with his book; the Secrets of the Federal Reserve. Edward Griffith later expanded upon Mullins information and re-wrote it into a more legibly story line that is an interesting read with the Creature from Jekyll Island. Is Ron Paul presenting the whole story? No, of course not, but he is teaching kindergarten here, America is not ready to go back on Organic food they still like Mcdonald's. I support Ron Paul and I support Tim Turner and any other group that is promoting a return to Republic in some way shape or form. Ron Paul's main obstacle besides vote fixing from computer systems programmed by Israeli's is the Controlled Press that is looking for one of their CFR stooges to be propped up as the opposition candidate to America's first foreign born leader. Of course Obama is not the dejure President, he is the de-facto President so he can be foreign born. The rules that we think apply do not, because we do not have the coin of the realm. It is the type of money that determines the type of legal system. Gold and Silver are the foundation of a Sovereign Dejure solvent Government and Debt notes are the domain of the De-facto corporation that collects interest on it's debts and runs under the UCC rather than American Common law.
The 4th estate controls the minds of the majority of Americans, they have to date have inputted the limited data, that these barely sentient beings make their decision on to pull the lever. Ron Paul ambush of the Iowa caucus will go a long way towards nuetralizing the media's negation of Ron Paul. Currently there main theme has been that Paul is not a top tier candidate and that he has no shot to win. That facade is crumbling now as it is becoming obvious that the truth is that Ron Paul has the majority of the support of anyone that actually has the capacity to think. A win in the Iowa caucus will cause the media to give Ron Paul more time and they will have to acknowledge that he is a frontrunner, which will swing more people into his camp because Americans like to jump on the band wagon, any band wagon. Momentum is the key right now, so your support is critical now, because there may not be a later. I have some Ron Paul paraphernalia that is left over from the 2008 campaign that is not dated so it applies today, just as much as yesteryear...
Ron Paul Patches, Ron Paul Baseball Cap and Ski Caps... with the Sons of Liberty logo as the backdrop. (*Note the Ron Paul Ski Caps and Baseball Caps are not listed on the site, but we can make them on request.) If you plan on making donations to his campaign, now is the time not later.. The Iowa caucus is Jan. 3rd, you can also do some phone banking from home. Nick Spanos runs the Nationwide Phone bank operation for Ron Paul. He has set up a real simple system that you can make calls from your home in support of the campaign. Just call (724) 444-7444 and use Call ID 115224, PIN 1#. The code is the same everyday.
You can also contact Nick direct @ nicks@ronpaul2012.com Now is the time to up to tempo to make the breakthrough to the other side. Where is the tipping point? That I do not know even with my crystal ball, all I know is that we are not there yet and we may never get another chance. The Republic hangs by a thread, will you help bring it back and re-install without all the viruses and trojan horses.
As a final note, I have a Restore the American Republic Subliminal for free that has the latest technologies from the AscensionEnergyProgram.com
The subliminal will help amplify yourself in addition to re-moving the brainwashing of an American Education and a lifetime of watching the TV. Ron Paul's Speech At CPAC 2011

He comes in with a passioned speech that enables him to win the CPAC Straw Poll.

The Ron Paul Revolution is back! Well, it never left.

They just called it the Tea Party and had Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin try to co-opt it. That lasted for about a minute and a half. Ron Paul just won a southern conservative straw-poll, actually Mitt the liberal democract won by a single hanging chad. That does not matter, Mitt will not be around much longer. He is just another sell-out politician who is a moron. The ghost of George Romney is waning anyway; look at the disaster in the Detroit.. Ron Paul will of course continue to gain in prominence because he tells the truth and even the flouride infested junk food rodents known as the American public with pick up the pick axes and become libertarians when their bellies start to grumble.
Uscivilflags- breaking the brainwashing of the debtor's prison.

The Southern Republican Leadership Poll is a sampling of Republican movers and shakers within the Southern part of the United States (Translation: Lobbyists, politicians and other big donors). This poll is significant in that it measures whether or not a candidate is viable (can raise enough support to win the Republican Primary in the South, the traditional Republican bastion).

Here are the results:

Q- If the primary election for president were held today, for whom would you vote? Please check the box by the candidate of your choice.

Newt Gingrich 18%
Mike Huckabee 4%
Gary Johnson 1%
Sarah Palin 18%
Ron Paul 24% (438 votes)
Tim Pawlenty 3%
Mike Pence 3%
Mitt Romney 24% (439 votes)
Rick Santorum 2%

It is also the time for those candidates that are not "viable" to consider political alliances with those that are. Based on all of the above, I would predict a Mitt Romney/Ron Paul ticket in 2012. This would be the result of Romney's deep pockets defeating Paul's "grass roots" in the Primary. Republican Primaries always favor the guy with the deepest pockets. Or the guy with the most connections to the deepest pockets.

Gingrich and Palin are not viable. Gingrich doesn't have a power-base and Palin resigned from hers. I see both of them joining the Mitt Romney campaign prior to the primaries, in exchange for promises of Cabinet positions in his administration.

So, there you have it.

Of course, in the end, whether you vote Republican or Democrat, you are voting for the Illuminazis. That is assuming that there will be elections in 2012. The way things are going right now, that seems very unlikely. By 2012, if the globalists have their way, you will be living in a forced labor camp, eating the crusts of stale bread, and singing "The Internationale".

Of course that's if you aren't already dead from the coming global conflict, planned genocides, race riots, food riots, starvation, natural disasters or man-made plagues.

In the mean time, expect more "dog and pony shows" from the people that don't want you looking behind the curtain, or underneath the floorboards until the show is over.

But, lets not be pessimistic. This earth needs a good cleansing, and if the wicked want to destroy the wicked, I don't think God will stand in their way. I also don't think that true Patriots need to worry about these things. We have wasted out our lives calling the people to repentance and trying to restore our God-given, Constitutional government. Our hands and hearts are clean of their blood. They have mocked us, murdered us, maligned us, and cast us out of their "respectable societies". We languish in our self-imposed exiles, our only companions are the truths handed down to us from the fathers. Our only friends, the Patriots who have gone before us.

Why should we care about popular opinions?

They chose their chains when they started down their various paths of greed, wanton lust, popularity and narcotics. We chose our liberty when we rejected these things. They have their idols and we have our God. And with God, all things are possible for those that believe. That means we are heading into a better world even as this one dissolves into chaos and anarchy.

Where there is Hope, there is always tomorrow. So remember, the darkest clouds bring with them the cleansing rain and after the storm, the sunshine and purified air will be that much sweeter.

40% of Americans now ready for Tea Parties and Ron Paul

Ron Paul's got staying power, that's what happens when you don't lie. This does not mean Sarah Palin, she has yet to take a stand for actually libertarian anti-tax sentiments. At this point just a pretty poser with some balls.

A new poll by NBC/Wall Street Journal shows that a hypothetical Tea Party would beat out both the Republican and Democratic Party's in a three-way matchup. According to the poll, more than 40 percent of Americans would support the Tea Party movement, compared to a 35 percent for Democrats and 28 percent for Republicans." The Tea Party movement does not have an official political platform but provides a voice for angry populist sentiment against the government and political establishment. However their is concern that the movement has been hijacked by Neocons and partisan Republicans the same way the anti-war movement was by democratic partisans during the Bush administration.

In a new documentary about the tea part movement activist Nate Wiggim said, "I think a tea party foreign policy would probably be none. A tea party foreign policy would be working on getting the U.S.A. back together… Our economy is in disarray. I don't think this is a time to worry about foreign policy when our country is about to collapse. It's time to take care of ourselves. It was a foolish decision to go to Afghanistan in the first place… [while] our own country's borders are left open," continued Wiggim. "We have all this globalization. We don't produce any of our own products, we always import everything. We need to focus on ourselves before we worry about any other country's foreign issues."

The 2006 and 2008 elections were referendums against the Bush administration and Republican Congress over the Wars in Iraq, corruption, and reckless spending. However the democrats interpreted it as a mandate for their agenda. Now Americas are just as fed up with Obama and the democratic congress. There has not been a situation in recent history were the American public strongly rejected both major political parties. Perhaps the closest situation was when Ross Perot ran as an independent on a Populist platform and earned 19% of the vote.

Obama's promised change but his policies are not that much different than Bush's. He renewed the Patriot Act, continues deficit spending, fails to secure our borders and pushes for amnesty, and continues the two wars in the middle east. Americans have been lied to that the democrats are liberals and the republicans are conservatives. We have two parties that believe in globalization over national sovereignty, favor wall street and multi-national corporations over the middle class, have no regard for our constitution, and support an interventionist foreign policy that is not in our nations interest.

Americans are now realizing that both parties have failed to provide the solutions to fix our country but the political system is rigged against third parties. However by working within the Republican party Ron Paul's movement successfully taps into this sentiment and has influenced the direction of the GOP. There are several candidates who are part of his movement running for office this year, including his son Rand Paul who is now leading in the Republican primary for Senate in Kentucky.
UScivilflags- based on the original Sons of Liberty flag. The flag of the original Tea Party.

Former Congressmen Traficant who also has a growing following said "there's a group out of Washington, and in several cities around the country, that want to bring back the old Reform Party, combine it with the tea party and bring the Libertarians in and everybody, and they want me to run as an independent for president." Former CNN pundit Lou Dobbs, who is a self described independent populist and advocate for the middle class has also been mentioned as potential candidate for 2012. Dobbs said, "I will be in the public arena and engaged," and that his areas of interest are, "Illegal immigration, international trade, job creation, and economic growth."

While independent candidates have long had a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected, if Obama's approval ratings continue to plummet and the republicans fail to provide and alternative, 2012 may provide an opportunity. The Internet has changed the political scene by breaking the monopoly that the corporate media has long had over political discourse. While getting elected as a third party is still near imposable, we will likely see change within the existing two parties such as with Ron Paul's movement.

Ron Paul: Time to Rout out the Enemies of the Republic

This guy is like 74, he is the energizer bunny. There is a reason.

The Founders' inspired vision of limited government has been kept alive by the hard work and generosity of Americans who truly cherish individual Liberty average people like you and me.

In the toughest times times like we are facing right now in the life of our nation freedom fighters have always stepped forward for America—armed with whatever it takes and at whatever sacrifice—to answer the call to defend our liberty. That's how America was born and how we, as a free and sovereign nation, have survived.

I have not known a time when the threats to our Liberty and the Founders' vision have been greater than they are today. For Liberty to survive, it is imperative that we confront these new threats, in all of their ugly forms, both foreign and domestic.

We continue to see a major economic crisis unfolding in our nation. New government programs are started daily, and future plans are being made for even more costly government expansion. All are based on the belief that we're in this mess because free-market capitalism and sound money failed. The obsession is with more spending, bailout of bad investments, more debt, and further dollar debasement. Many are saying we need an international answer to our problems with the establishment of a world central bank and a single fiat reserve currency.

These suggestions are merely more of the same policies that created our mess and are doomed to fail.

At least 90% of the cause for the financial crisis can be laid at the doorstep of the Federal Reserve. Their manipulation of credit, the money supply, and interest rates caused the various bubbles to form.

Congress added fuel to the fire by various programs and institutions like the Community Reinvestment Act, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, FDIC, and HUD mandates, which were all backed up by aggressive court rulings.

The Fed and US Treasury have perniciously doled out trillions in subsidized loans to troubled banks and other financial institutions, and that number is growing through a revolving TARP slush fund which the Feds are using to bail out their huge corporate buddies. The Federal Reserve and Treasury constantly brag about the need for "transparency" and "oversight," but it's all just talk — they want none of it. They want secrecy while the privileged are rescued at the expense of the middle class.

It is unimaginable that Congress could be so derelict in its duty. It does nothing but condone the arrogance of the Fed in its refusal to tell us where the trillions in bailout money have gone. All Members of Congress should be outraged that conditions could deteriorate to this degree. It's no wonder that a large and growing number of Americans are now demanding an end to the Fed.

The Federal Reserve created our problem, yet it manages to gain even more power in the socialization of the entire financial system. The whole bailout process this past couple of years has been characterized by no oversight, no limits, no concerns, no understanding, and no common sense.

Similar mistakes were made in the 1930s which ushered in the age of the New Deal, the Fair Deal, the Great Society and the supply-siders who convinced conservatives that deficits didn't really matter after all, since they were anxious to finance a very expensive deficit-financed American empire.

All the programs since the Depression were meant to prevent recessions and depressions. Yet all that was done was to plant the seeds of the greatest financial bubble in all history. Because of this lack of understanding, the stage is now set for massive nationalization of the financial system, and even the means of production.

The Feds not only own and control car companies and financial institutions, their lust for power and control now extends to their malevolent scheme to nationalize our healthcare system and thereby take over one sixth of our entire economy. This will be a disaster if it happens!

I could go on but I know that you understand the crisis that we face and agree with me on what must be done to turn our nation around.

I hear from Americans like you who are up in arms about what is going on in our nation. Messages come into my congressional office morning, noon and night. Taxpayers are outraged by the huge bailouts, the massive expansion of government and the refusal by Congress and the leaders of both parties to follow the Constitution.

Many Americans are frustrated—many are outright angry—about failed government policies that just tighten the government's noose around our necks. Many millions of fed up taxpayers have taken to the streets and town hall meetings in recent months to make sure their voices were heard by the uncaring Washington elites.

Since the financial crisis has become more and more apparent, and the attempts by the Fed and Treasury and Congress to solve the problem have become more desperate, my phone has been ringing off the wall with calls from media outlets wanting interviews and to get my opinions about what is going on and how we need to deal with it.

Several books that I have authored with the help of FREE have become instant best sellers as patriotic Americans search desperately for the intellectual and political ammunition they need to fight for the future of our country and to take back our freedom from the fascists who despise our Constitution and those of us who defend it.

During the presidential election, do you remember how the media scoffed at my suggestions that we were facing economic disaster? They laughed at my calls for limited government, for abolishing the Fed and the IRS, for cutting federal spending at home and abroad to balance our budget, and my call for a sound monetary system. Today, we are well into this economic crisis and they are not laughing any more.

The time is ripe for us to be at the forefront of offering workable solutions of calling for a return to limited, constitutional government, the need for honest money and low taxes, and the absolute need to expose and abolish the Federal Reserve which has done so much to undermine our currency and destroy one of the most productive economic systems in the history of the world.

My bill to audit the Fed has made tremendous progress. Together we have led the fight to get congressional hearings, 308 cosponsors, and unprecedented attention around the country for this legislation. Yet the banksters and a few of their weasel allies in Congress continue to do everything they can to water down or outright kill our movement to audit this monstrous institution.

I'm outraged at every such attempt to stop our bill in order to enable the secrecy and disruptive power of the Fed to continue. Some days I am so angered by the banksters' underhanded shenanigans that I'm reminded of the famous battle cry of central bank foe Andrew Jackson as he moved to abolish the central bank: "By eternal God I will rout you out!" Jackson shouted as he demonstrated the courage to go against Congress and the Fed.

Ron Paul helped out with the New Hampshire Sound Money Bill.

Ron Paul gets better- Hillary acknowledges his Broad Influence

It is amazing to see Ron Paul becoming a better politician and have his influence in Congress continue to grow. The republic is not dead yet. Remember Hillary Clinton was a supporter of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan way back in the 1960's, before she became a sellout.

Ron Paul ruins the Fed and CNBC in one swipe.

A bunch of hacks try to take a swipe at Dr. Paul passive-aggressively. They are just aiding his cause and God's. Yes, God is on Ron Paul's side and not Barack Obama. Why? Is that not self-evident? Are you color blind or can you hear the truth when you see it.

Transparency of the Federal Reserve: Dr. Paul

This week the Federal Reserve responded to the American people’s increased concerns over our monetary policy by presenting new initiatives aimed at enhancing the Fed’s transparency and accountability. As someone who has called for more openness from the Fed for over 30 years, I was pleased to see the Fed acknowledge the legitimacy of this need.

The Federal Reserve controls the flow of money and credit in our economy because Congress has abdicated its responsibility over the nation’s currency. This process therefore occurs centrally, and almost completely outside the system of checks and balances. Because of legal tender laws, people are left with no real choice, except to build their lives and futures around this monopoly currency, vulnerable to powerful central bankers. The Founding Fathers intended only gold and silver to be used as currency, however, inch by inch over the decades, this country has backed away from this important restraint. Our money today has no link whatsoever to gold or silver. For many reasons, this is extremely dangerous, and has a lot to do with the boom and bust cycles that have resulted in the crisis in which we find ourselves today.

The Fed is now pledging to reveal to the public more about its economic predictions, and calls this greater transparency. This is little more than window-dressing, at best, utterly useless at worst. Many analysts, especially those familiar with the Austrian school of economics, saw the current economic crisis coming years ago when the Federal Reserve was still telling the American people their policies were as good as gold. So while it might be nice to know what fantasy-infused outlook the Fed has on the economy, I am much more interested in what they are doing as a result of their faulty, haphazard interpretation of data. For instance, what arrangements do they have with other foreign central banks? What the Fed does on that front could very well affect or undermine foreign policy, or even contribute to starting a war.

We also need to know the source and destination of funds provided through the Fed’s emergency funding facilities. Information such as this will provide a more accurate and complete picture of the true cost of these endless bailouts and spending packages, and could very likely affect the decisions being made in Congress. But with so much of the Fed’s business cloaked in secrecy, these latest initiatives will not even scratch the surface of the Fed’s opaque operations. People are demanding answers and explanations for our economic malaise, and we should settle for nothing less than the whole truth on monetary policy.

The first step is to pass legislation I will soon introduce requiring an audit of the Federal Reserve so we can at least get an accurate picture of what is happening with our money. If this audit reveals what I suspect, and Congress has finally had enough, they can also pass my legislation to abolish the Federal Reserve and put control of the economy’s lifeblood, the currency, back where it Constitutionally belongs. If Congress refuses to do these two things, the very least they could do is repeal legal tender laws and allow people to choose a different currency in which to operate. If the Fed refuses to open its books to an audit, and Congress refuses to demand this, the people should not be subject to the whims of this secretive and incompetent organization.

Ron Paul Warns of Dream of U.S. Empire

Dr. Paul has been right all along. Only Economic hardship will wake the American people up, and we have a lot more to go.
US congressman Ron Paul says US military interventions around the world show that American politicians are in pursuit of a "world empire".

US statesmen from both sides of the aisle "are all interventionists, they all believe in the world empire," said the outspoken Republican congressman in an interview with Russia Today.

Paul made the remarks when asked about President Barack Obama's decision to assign 17,000 American troops to Afghanistan contingents.

The Texas congressman called Obama's decision an "outrage", saying the US has suffered "the most because we're paying for our foreign intervention overseas."

"But foreign policies don't change; it doesn't change with Democrats or Republicans," Paul said.

Afghanistan has been the scene of daily violence since the 2001 invasion of US-led forces who have been seeking to to capture al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and 'defeat' terrorism by removing the Taliban regime.

President Obama has vowed to change the direction of the 'war on terror' by lowering US military presence in Iraq and focusing on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The president says the surge in Afghanistan is "necessary to stabilize a deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, which has not received the strategic attention, direction and resources it urgently requires."

According to White House officials, further decisions on sending more troops to Afghanistan will come after the administration completes a broader review of its policy in the war-torn country.

Ron Paul: Abolish the Fed: Constitution requires use of Gold and Silver

By Bob Unruh
World Daily Net
n just recent weeks, the federal government has designated billions of tax dollars for bank bailouts, including vast quantities to quasi-government agencies that helped create the economic crisis; billions more for automakers, and billions more for homeowners who default on their loans, so where will it end? Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas says he has at least part of the answer: abolish the Federal Reserve.

The congressman, a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, once again has introduced a bill that would get rid of the private organization that sets interest rates and establishes monetary priorities.

"Abolishing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to reassert its constitutional authority over monetary policy," Paul said in a statement at the time the proposal was introduced.

"The United States Constitution grants to Congress the authority to coin money and regulate the value of the currency," Paul said. "The Constitution does not give Congress the authority to delegate control over monetary policy to a central bank. Furthermore, the Constitution certainly does not empower the federal government to erode the American standard of living via an inflationary monetary policy."

You've never needed to understand money like you need to understand it now! "Web of Debt: The Shocking Truth About Our Money System and How We Can Break Free" unravels the deception of the Federal Reserve and presents a crystal clear picture of the financial abyss towards which we are heading.

The Texas lawmaker said the constitutional mandate to Congress actually provides only for currency "backed by stable commodities such as silver and gold."

"Abolishing the Federal Reserve and returning to a constitutional system will enable America to return to the type of monetary system envisioned by our nation's founders: one where the value of money is consistent because it is tied to a commodity such as gold," he said.

Paul said every problem in the economy, "from the Great Depression, to the stagflation of the '70s, to the current economic crisis caused by the housing bubble," can be traced to Federal Reserve policy.

Paul's opinions on the Fed are available in a video linked here and embedded here:

Paul's plan calls for the director of the Office of Management and Budget to "liquidate" Fed assets "in an orderly manner so as to achieve as expeditious a liquidation as may be practical while maximizing the return to the Treasury."

Columnist and commentator Chuck Baldwin believes it's about time.

"'We've seen money go out the back door of this government unlike any time in the history of our country,' Senator Byron Dorgan, a North Dakota Democrat, said on the Senate floor. 'Nobody knows what went out of the Federal Reserve Board, to whom and for what purpose. How much from the FDIC? How much from TARP? When? Why?'" he wrote.

"Senator Dorgan is exactly right. No one oversees the Fed. The Fed is held accountable to absolutely nobody. But Senator Dorgan (as with everyone else in Congress) has no one to blame but himself. Ever since the Marxist, E. Mandell House, convinced President Woodrow Wilson to create the Federal Reserve in 1913, the Congress of the United States has had virtually nothing to do with the way our fiscal policies are managed. The Fed (which is not even a government agency, but rather a private corporation consisting of mostly foreign bankers) dictates America's financial policies," Baldwin said.

Baldwin cites the U.S. Constitution itself. In Article I, Section 8, Paragraph 5, it states Congress has the authority to "coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures."

"Only the elected Congress, not some private foreign (or even domestic) banking interest, has the power to make monetary policy," he said, and "paper money – known as the Federal Reserve Notes – is not even legal tender."

The problem Paul's plan confronts is simple, he wrote.

"No cosponsors. That's right. No cosponsors," he said.

"Until the American people demand that their elected members of Congress live up to their duties and responsibilities under the Constitution, they will continue to have their pockets picked clean by these corrupt banksters in New York City (and London) and their contemptible facilitators in Washington, D.C.," Baldwin wrote.

Paul's spokeswoman, Rachel Mills, told WND the congressman has strong feelings about the issue.

"The inflationary policies of the Fed are insidious," she told WND. "It's a hidden tax on the poor."

She confirmed the idea has been getting more attention recently, because "people are becoming really curious about the roots of our problems."

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke this week said "policymakers" have "pulled out all the stops – cutting the federal funds rate … and establishing a series of lending programs designed to add liquidity into credit constrained markets."

He also committed to more "transparency," by introducing a new website for Fed information and new communications efforts.

Paul was unimpressed.

"While I applaud any effort towards greater Federal Reserve transparency, Chairman Bernanke's latest effort contains more window dressing than substance," he said.

Getting information from the Fed won't help, he said, "as this data is often inaccurate.

"If the Fed could not be trusted to foresee the present economic downturn, despite the myriad of market commentators predicting this, why should the current Fed data and predictions be any more trusted?" Paul asked. "Furthermore, these new initiatives only divert focus from the real areas where transparency is needed. The Fed's agreements with foreign central banks and international finance institutions need to be audited, as do the source and destination of funds provided through the Fed's emergency funding facilities."

At the CitizenEconomists.com site, J.D. Seagraves noted his organization's poll showed a "sarcastic and/or deranged 5 percent of respondents" believe the Fed's performance in the current economy is excellent.

One in four in that poll believe, "We should get rid of them."

"Support for abolishing the Federal Reserve System is mounting every day," the report said. "The fact that people are beginning to wake up to the problems caused by the Federal Reserve System is a hopeful sign. The only question is: is it too late? Can the dollar be saved by the political action of the president and the Congress, or must we wait for the entire global financial system to completely melt down so we can start over?"

Columnist Jacob Hornberger last year noted that while Paul's abolition plan is considered "wacky" by some, at least two Nobel Prize-winning economists have agreed.

Economists Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek called for the abolition of the Fed during their careers, Hornberger notes.

"While Friedman spent much of his life advocating externally imposed constraints on the Fed's power to expand the money supply, his first wish was to have the Fed abolished, as he pointed out in a 1995 Reason magazine interview. In his book, 'Denationalization of Money: An Analysis of the Theory and Practice of Concurrent Currencies,' Hayek advocated a free-market monetary system of competing currencies," said Hornberger.

"Most Americans probably still believe that the Great Depression was caused by 'the failure of the free-enterprise system.' It is a false belief. The truth is that the worst economic disaster in American history was caused by the Federal Reserve. Give current Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke credit for publicly acknowledging that fact in a speech delivered in 2002 commemorating Friedman's 90th birthday," Hornberger said.

WND recently reported that under the fiscal policies of the Fed, the total obligations of the United States have reached $65.5 trillion – exceeding the gross domestic product of the world.

War At Any Cost?

From Rep. Paul's testimony to the Joint Economic Committee Hearing, February 28, 2008.
In recent months the undeclared war in Iraq seems not to have been on the minds of most Americans. News of the violence and deprivation which ordinary Iraqis are forced to deal with on a daily basis rarely makes it to the front pages. Instead, we read in the newspapers numerous slanted stories about the how the surge is succeeding and reducing violence. Never does anyone dare to discuss the costs of the war or its implications.
There are the direct costs of the war, the costs of maintaining bases, providing food, water, and supplies, which the administration vastly underestimated before embarking on their quest in Iraq. These costs run into the tens of billions of dollars per month, and I shudder to think what the total direct costs will add up to when we finally pull out.
Then there are the opportunity costs, those which decision makers in Washington almost never discuss. Imagine that the war in Iraq had never happened, and the hundreds of billions of dollars we have spent so far were still in the hands of taxpayers and businesses. How many jobs could have been created, how much money could have been saved, invested, and put to productive use?
Unfortunately, it appears too many policymakers in Washington still cling to the broken window fallacy, long since discredited by the 19th century French economist Frederic Bastiat, that destruction is a good thing because jobs are created to rebuild what is destroyed. This pernicious fallacy is unfortunately widespread in our society today because those in positions of power and influence only recognize what is seen, and ignore what is unseen.
Running a deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars per year in order to fund our misadventure is unsustainable. Eventually those debts must be repaid, but this country is in such poor financial shape that when our creditors come knocking, we will have little with which to pay them. Our imperial system of military bases set up in protectorate states around the world is completely dependent on the continuing willingness of foreigners to finance our deficits. When the credit dries up we will find ourselves in a dire situation. Americans will suffer under a combination of confiscatory taxation, double-digit inflation, and the sale of massive amounts of land and capital goods to our foreign creditors.
The continuation of the war in Iraq will end in disaster for this country. Parallels between the Roman Empire and our own are numerous, although our decline and fall will happen far quicker than that of Rome. The current financial crisis has awakened some to the perils that await us, but solutions that address the root of the problem and seek to fix it are nowhere to be found. There must be a sea change in the attitudes and thinking of Americans and their leaders. The welfare-warfare state must be abolished, respect for private property and individual liberties restored, and we must return to the limited-government ideals of our Founding Fathers. Any other course will doom our nation to the dustbin of history.
